SIZING

To ensure a fit you are happy with, we strongly recommend you take measurements of a pair of jeans you already own and compare them to the tape measurements listed on each item description.

Why take measurements? The manufacturing dates of these jeans span decades and fit can vary with each brand, model and year. A waist size 29 from the 1980’s will fit differently than a waist size 29 manufactured last year. Vintage sizes are much smaller than today’s denim sizing. The older the pair, the more high-waisted and smaller they will be. Compared to the stretchy, modern styles available today, these jeans do not have Lycra and ours are rigid denim.

While our sizes are gender specific based only on industry sizing, we want everyone to feel comfortable wearing our jeans!

On each item description page, we have listed the waist size on the manufacturer's tag in addition to providing waist and inseam measurements taken with a tailor’s tape. The jeans we source are only men’s and are longer in length than women’s jeans. Most have been cropped or have been altered into shorts. 

In all cases, especially where the size on the tag is much larger or smaller than the actual fit, we will note women’s sizing by saying “Fits Like: Size XX.”

Please see the chart on this page for women’s sizes and corresponding waist measurements taken with a soft tailor’s tape. Men’s sizing should also follow the measurements and not the manufacture’s tag.

  • HIGH WAIST at smallest area of waist above belly button

  • NATURAL WAIST love handle area just below belly button

  • LOWER HIP across hip bones

  • PELVIC around widest area of bottom at pelvis

  • THIGH around one thigh at bottom of crotch

  • INSEAM length from crotch to end of hem

We also need to know your general body type:

  • STRAIGHT even proportions

  • HOURGLASS small waist, wider hips

  • UPSIDE DOWN TRIANGLE narrower thighs and bottom

And your desired fit:

  • TIGHT fitted and snug

  • RELAXED looser 'boyfriend fit, about an inch larger all around than your measurements

Wrangler® jeans sit higher on the waist than jeans by Levi Strauss & Co.® which are more commonly worn as boyfriend fit. For a snug fit, we recommend choosing your size. For a looser, boyfriend fit, we recommend sizing up by a waist size.  When measuring for Wranglers, measure your waist at the smallest point above your belly button.

CARE

If you are a true denim head then you already know not to wash your jeans! And you probably also know to stick them in the freezer if they smell. Or you just hang them outside in the fresh air for an afternoon.

If that makes you scrunch your face and you must wash your denim, we recommend infrequent washing.

Turn the item inside out. Hand wash or machine wash in cold water gentle cycle. And wash the item by itself to prevent colors from other clothes being absorbed into your garment and embellishment. Hang dry.

After washing, some embellishments will need a press. If needed, set iron to low and press gently. Dry cleaning is an option, however, please be conscious of the environment!

The more you wash jeans, the more you wash away the integrity of the denim and embellishment.

Each pair of jeans leaves the studio washed more than once.  And each embellishment is wash tested. They arrive to you ready to wear!
